JAELYOGA: 


JAELYOGA IS A FUSION BRAND OF YOGA CONSISTING OF THE TEACHINGS OF BIKRAM CHOUDHURY AND DHARMA MITTRA.  

THE THREE SUPPORTIVE PRINCIPLES THAT WE PRACTICE IN EACH CLASS ARE ALIGNMENT, PRANAYAMA, AND DRISHTI. 

JAEL HAS THIS IDEA THAT YOGA SHOULD FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE YOU.  THEREFORE, IT IS CHALLENGING.  YOU GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.  IT'S NOT JUST AN EXERCISE ROUTINE.  IN JAEL'S CLASSES, RATHER THAN FINDING AN ASANA AND HOLDING IT, WE MOVE THROUGH IT, SOMETIMES GENTLY, SOMETIMES DETERMINEDLY, ALWAYS DEEPER, ALWAYS FURTHER.  USING THIS TECHNIQUE, THERE IS NO END TO THE BENEFITS YOU CAN REAP FROM YOUR PRACTICE.  BREATH DEEPER, STAND STRAIGHTER, FOCUS LONGER, ACHIEVE CONCENTRATION.

SOME DO JAELYOGA TO ACHIEVE A HIGHER STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS.  OTHERS JUST WANT TO LOOK HOT AT THE BEACH.  MOST ACHIEVE BOTH, AWARENESS OF THEIR BEING AND PHYSICAL APPEAL.

THIS SIXTY TO NINETY MINUTE PRACTICE WITH A LONG, DEEP SAVASANA , ENERGY FIRMING AND CHAKRA AWAKENING AT THE END TEACHES YOU TO TAKE YOUR YOGA OFF THE MAT AND INTO YOUR LIFE.  JAEL WILL TEACH YOU TECHNIQUES TO OVERCOME PAIN, SELF DOUBT, AND MANY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS.

THE GOAL IS TO MOVE YOUR PRACTICE UP GRADUALLY INTO A TRANCEY DANCEY MEDITATIVE PRACTICE THAT MOVES YOUR BODY AND SOUL TO THE MUSIC AROUND YOU.






TECHNIQUE:

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT IN A YOGA GARDEN CLASS?  SERIOUS YOGA TAUGHT WITH LAUGHTER AND LIGHTNESS.  WHETHER YOU'RE A BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE OR ADVANCED AT YOGA, YOU WILL CREATE AN ENERGY THAT PERMEATES THE ROOM, BRINGING EACH STUDENT TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF INNER AWARENESS. 

THE ROOM IS WARM WITH JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF HUMIDITY AND YOUR PRACTICE WILL MAKE YOU SWEAT.  AT THE SAME TIME, YOU WILL PERFORM ASANAS THAT ARE INTENDED TO MASSAGE DEEP TISSUES AND INTERNAL ORGANS.  WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF TWISTING AROUND LIKE SLINKY OR LOCKING YOUR ELBOWS BEHIND YOUR HEAD, YOU WILL BE THANKFUL FOR THE HEAT RADIATING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE YOUR BODY, WHICH ALLOWS THE DEEP MUSCLES, TENDONS AND LIGAMENTS TO STRETCH JUST A LITTLE BIT BEYOND THEIR ORDINARY LIMITS.

 JAEL OR YOUR SPECIAL INSTRUCTOR WILL WALK AROUND THE ROOM, SOMETIMES TOUCHING YOUR BODY AT JUST THE POINT WHERE IT MAY NEED MODIFICATION, SUPPORTING AND ENCOURAGING YOU IN THE DIFFICULT BALANCING POSES AND EVEN GETTING DOWN ON THE FLOOR WITH YOU TO SHARE HER ENERGY AND GET YOU INTO THAT BACKBENDING BUJANGHASANA SERIES.  SOMETIMES WE USE A STUDENT AS A MODEL TO DEMONSTRATE AN ASANA OR MODIFICATION, AND SOMETIMES JAEL WILL EITHER MODEL A FEW ASANAS OR JOIN THE PRACTICE.

 A SINGULAR EXPERIENCE WITH PLENTY OF NURTURE, WE WILL ADMONISH YOU TO GO A LITTLE FURTHER.  BIKRAM IS THE TOUGH LOVE OF YOGA.  THE ORIGINAL     HOT YOGA. please observe the following Yoga etiquette

     Come hydrated stay hydrated.    Drink plenty of water and electrolyte fruits and drinks.    Watch out for sugar.

     Arrive early.    If you need to be late, quiety remove your shoes, belongings and ego, leave them outside and join the class already in progress.

     Leave all things outside the shala.   Cleanse  your feet in the tea tree oil and purified water, supplied.   leave shoes and all other

     belongings outside the shala.      Leave your ego outside.

     Inform your instructor of any medical conditions, injuries or special circumstances that may affect your practice.

     Be aware of "sauca" (cleanliness).    Aim for purity of body and self.    Be sure that your body and clothes are clean.

     Focus on your practice while respecting the practice of others.   Save questions and comments for after class. 

     If you can't do an asana or transition properly, just pretend, you'll eventually get there.   Or not.   Do your best.
